Research Activities

The services provided in the area of research and development are primarily focused on the realisation of projects supported by national (Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Industry and Trade CZ, Ministry of Regional Development CZ, etc.) and European research programmes (Horizon 2020, European Space Agency Research programmes, etc.).

Furthermore, INTENS Corporation offers services related to commercial research and development which aims at the needs of our customers as well as the internal ones. Within the scope of our own research and development activities, we invest in the area of development of our knowledge and technological potential which is subsequently provided to our customers in the form of services based on innovative procedures, methods and technologies.

Within the scope of the realised research project designs, we put strong emphasis on the compliance with the basic principles of technological development which require practical verification of the theoretical knowledge. Thus, the initial theoretical level is only the first step of our research activities and is always followed by verification pilot projects, functional samples, software products, etc.

As a consequence, systematical assessment of outcomes resulting from the research and development activities enhances the total efficiency of expenses and develops knowledge and competences of our company.

Increasing road traffic security by means of car cooperating systems supporting communication of a car with other cars or with intelligent transport infrastructure

Subject:

The aim of this project was a definition of activities and a design leading to a successful implementation of cooperative systems in the Czech Republic. A part of the project was also a practical verification of the proposed processes by means of a pilot operation of the C-ITS systems in real conditions, in particular on the example of Prague circuit (road R1). Various scenarios were tested – the communication among vehicles themselves as well as the communication between a car and the intelligent transport infrastructure. All findings were then incorporated into the certified methodology by the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic and are used in practice. Involvement of the Czech Republic within the European pilot project of automatic emergency calls from a vehicle, eCall (HeERO), realised within the scope of the 4th call of the European programme CIP (Competitiveness and Innovation Programme)

Subject:

The aim of this project prepared for the Ministry of Transport CZ was a pilot realisation of the functions of the eCall system in the Czech Republic, including its interoperability across the countries belonging to the consortium of the European project HeERO. More information about this project, which 9 European countries participated in, is available here. The tasks of INTENS Corporation included the preparation of the initial analysis of the telecommunication environment in the Czech Republic with focus on the implementation of specific parts for the eCall service and the development of the testing platform for the verification of the settings of the TO2 network so that the eCall calls within the scope of the network were directed and processed correctly on the level of the IZS dispatching department. Last but not least, our company developed the first prototypes of the IVS units (in cooperation with our hardware partners) that were then supplied e.g. to Croatia and the Netherlands.

Research, design and pilot verification of the Integrated System of Intelligent Parking

Subject:

The aim of the project is the research, design and pilot verification of the functions of the integrated system of intelligent parking (ISIP). ISIP offers a complex way of static transport strategy implementation in city agglomerations by means of transport telematic instruments and technologies. The fully automatic processes related to the management of parking in cities include e.g. reserved resident zones, parking houses and public parking places. As a result, the implementation of ISIP increases, among others, the efficiency of the parking fee collection. The project considers the implementation of conventional detector technologies and in particular the method of the exact determination of location by means of the GNSS. Within the scope of the project, a pilot simulation of such a system will be realised (further information to be published).
